Taste Restaurant Partners with Hospice of Amador & Calaveras for Oscar Night
MARCH 13, 2018—PLYMOUTH, CA—On Oscar Night, Sunday, March 4, the red carpet was rolled out for well-dressed guests dining at Taste Restaurant and Wine Bar in support of the “Dress to the Nines” fundraiser for Hospice of Amador and Calaveras. All guests who wore their black-tie attire had nine percent of their final dinner bill donated to Hospice.
The event was a collaboration between the staff at Hospice of Amador and Calaveras and Tracey Berkner, co-owner of Taste Restaurant and Wine Bar. “I have been touched by the resources and compassion of Hospice. I wanted to give back not just by writing a check but by having fun and getting the community involved,” stated Berkner.

To donate, all you had to do was dress up and come in. Even if just for a glass of wine and a bowl of pasta at the Wine Bar, a dessert date, or a full dinner in the dining room, every sequin and bow tie counted. Those who did not come prepared were offered the option to add nine percent to their bill as a donation to Hospice. Ariane Debien, Executive Director of Hospice, was on hand in a stunning black lace dress with her family.
“I am thrilled to enrich the partnership with local businesses. This was so much fun!” Debien shared with the rest of her team from Hospice, after dinner. Local legend Johnny Vinciguerra was on hand in his red-carpet best to kick-off his birthday celebration. His blue sparkling shoes were the hit of the evening!
The final donation came to just over $500.00 for the evening. “I am positive that this is just the beginning to a wonderful tradition with Taste and that next year we will have every seat filled with beautifully dressed community members dining out to support Hospice. We thank all of the attendees, but also those who came for dinner and opted in to the donation on the spur of the moment!” said Wendy Mathis, community liaison for Hospice of Amador and Calaveras.
Mark your calendars for next years “Dress to the Nines,” event on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Taste Restaurant and Wine Bar. Can you be better dressed than Johnny V?
