The Amador STARS sincerely thank our community for supporting our 5th annual yard sale, even coming out in the rain! Over $7,600 was raised to help our friends on their cancer journey.
Amador STARS appreciate everyone who gave us donations and those who came to shop!
Amador STARS also appreciate all the volunteers who gave their time for 3 days to help us to help others!
We thank Pine Grove Community Service District for the use of the Pine Grove Park.
We appreciate the support of the Pine Grove Cal Fire Camp and their volunteers who helped us with set up and take down. We also would like to acknowledge their generous donation of $493.00!
We thank Volcano Communications for the use of their parking lot.
The funds generated by the yard sale assist us in serving the patients in our community.
We have 7 vehicles and 40 volunteers who drive patients to their cancer related appointments.
This week of July we are transporting 32 patients to their appointments in Amador, El Dorado, Calaveras, San Joaquin, Sacramento, and Placer Counties as well as trips to the greater San Francisco Bay Area.
In 2016 Amador STARS logged over 110,000 miles driving patients to appointments.
All this is made possible due to our community support!
If you would like more information, or would like to volunteer with the Amador STARS, please phone our office at 209-267-1246 or go online to www.amadorstars.org.

The 27-year old, Jackson-based Foothill Conservancy is pleased to announce that Amanda C. Nelson (pictured left) has joined the organization as its new executive director.
Amanda comes to the local, nonprofit, grassroots conservation organization after a 25-year career leading and consulting with nonprofit organizations throughout the country. After growing up in the Bay Area, Amanda received her B.A. from U.C. Berkeley. She has lived on the East and West Coasts, the South, and in Europe and Puerto Rico.
“I am excited to join the Conservancy and by the opportunity to live and work in Amador County,” Amanda said. “This beautiful, pastoral setting is truly inspiring.
“Having spoken with some of the Conservancy’s dedicated members, I am reminded that the organization is so much more than one person or leader—it is really a community dedicated to keeping this scenic land and water clean and sustainable for generations to come.”
“We’re delighted to have Amanda join our team,” said Conservancy President Katherine Evatt. “Her tremendous leadership skills and experience will help our organization grow, thrive, and address new challenges.”
